And then the assembly is pretty close to your measurements.

A couple of more questions. I assume the spring goes between the pivot bolt and the bolt in the delrin piece but what is the spring on this picture? seems bigger than the one above. Then finally I assume you just drill a hole through the delrin bar and tie a rope through it for your yellow pull rope?

yes about the springs, the big spring was one i had lying around put it on to try it.The delrin bar was 1 inch long and was drilled and tapped for a small machine screw coming in from both ends there was a small hole drilled in the middle to accept a small wire going to the triangular lever.you could probably make up your own lever to make things work

So I finally got around to machining one. I tried it out in the shop and it won't lock back in by itself because the spring is too stiff. I experimented with some softer things but it's still hit or miss. Before I go grinding more off the end to make it more round to see if it will cam back in by itself, I figured I'd ask. In your experience does it actually lock itself back up or do you have to pull the string to pull the delrin bar back?

sorry about the slow reply, a lot happening around ,fires etc. the latch is a little hit or miss depending on speed but works most of the time, I have pulled the string to get it latched

I still have a factory original set new in wrapping if anyone is interested. Too late for me, but hopefully someone else can use it. Is your experience with it that you have to pull the rope to force it to relatch? The older pictures that I found don't even show the triangular piece that onekiwi's has, I wonder if that was a later addition to make it easier. Do you happen to have a winterizing kit? Someone on facebook might need it. Onekiwi, I think you came up with a different winterizing kit and posted a picture of it on the old forum. If you can find that picture maybe you can post it here at some point to help them out.

the delrin bar had a hole drilled thru it with small screws coming in from each end. there was a small hole thru the center with a thin wire going thru the hole to the triangular lever, this left the latching with a smooth surface to roll over I will try and dig out the winterising mod i made it was basicly a 1x1 inch derin bar inserted into the rear booton frame tube.I had cut a couple of inches out of it to get the delrin inserted
