We have been trying to find a way to limit the mast rotation, but the lines we have been using break quickly. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

WR17 Halyard don't break. I bought the halyard from the WR store. I used it for mast limiter and other mods that need high tension line...(like mast raising with trailer winch).

Thanks Richard for the reply. The picture gives me a good vision of what needs to be done.

Richard, do you have a picture of the halyard line as the mast limiter that Bill is referring to? I bought a used WR17 with the mast support casting broke off and need to replace it to restrict my boom from snapping a turning so much. Im afraid the goose neck will bend the mast track.

ramebane,
I used a WR17 halyard because of it's high strength. Actually, I ordered a new halyard and used part of the old halyard for the mast rotation limiter.
Without a mast rotation limiter the mast will over rotate and cause stress on the gooseneck. Also, it will distort the airflow at the mainsail luff. Keeping in mind that the shape of the mast will add sail area when aligned with the sail luff.
You can Google WR17 Parts - Nickels Boat Works to get to the ; Halyard - $35. They also have the mast support casting and mast base kit.
