Any opinions regarding the value of having the turbo mainsail ? conditions it is good for, how much it affects safety of sailing, performance etc
Also opinions about the value of having the reacher sail. Thanks

The BEST thing you can do if you are in light wind regions. The best thing if you just want to go faster in any condition. My light air speed doubled < 5 knots. Do not get rid of your boom. The sail ships as loose-footed with new triple blocks. It is needed. Add an outhaul with blocks. This way you can flatten the sail. Also, order it with a reef. I had one put in later for $150. Also, add a cunningham (downhaul). Get ready to go faster. I'm dumping my reacher which is cut badly and getting a real code Zero with a continuous furler.

You set this sail up with a boom? I would love to see some pictures. I have been pondering getting one of these sails, but the idea of trying to reef a boom-less sail in wind and waves has me a bit intimidated.

I don’t have any pictures with me but just put your old boom on and attach the single block to the end of the boom. Look at pictures of some high-performance dinghy booms and you’ll get the picture. This picture is almost identical to what I do the line is run forward down the mast and back to where it ends in a jam cleat on my right side.
