Use 1" x 1/4" aluminum to create a rudder arm extension bracket. bolt the bracket to the rudder arm. fashion a hole to fit a boat pole.

Very nice I need to figure out a way to go forward for adjustments or grabbing a sandwich without either dropping sail or going off course in 3 seconds.
I had an auto pilot on my catalina 22 was basically just a push pull hydraulic arm with a compass attached. Wouldn’t go that far but something to lock the rudder in place would work just fine.

In the (WR17 autopilot) thread, I have instructions for an Autopilot installation. Of course I can set the autopilot and move around the boat and stay on course. I believe I created the only fore and aft mounted autopilot. The installation is rather lengthy so if you are interested I can send info via email.
