Hello, I am less then a mile from the boat landing, and wondering about the best way to transport the 17 with minimal setup. The road has enough traffic that I will need to retract the amas, therefore lowering the mast, would I need to disconnect the forward shrouds? Also has anyone left their boat anchored for a period of time?
Thanks Chris

Chris, I also trailer my WR17 about a mile, down a dirt road, to the landing. You can get away with some short cut travel prep.
You can: leave the cockpit covers home (depending on the weather) leave the trampoline connected leave the rudder installed (depending on the road) leave the shrouds connected leave the amas pinned but untied down (depending on the road) leave the hull lightly strapped to the trailer (depending on the road) lightly secure the mast to it's crutches (depending on the road) might not need to connect trailer lights (depending on traffic) On an unimproved road with bumps you should: consider switching to 12" tires to keep the rudder higher above the road or remove the rudder install a motor mount plate (see WR17 motor mount plate. in this forum) to keep the motor from slipping off it's mount during travel install aka shims (see WR17 aka shims, in this forum) to prevent aka ware pin the amas and tie them down strap the hull securely to the trailer be sure the mast is well secured to it's crutches
m down.
