Has anyone set up their WR 17 to be operated from the from front cockpit? I noticed that when sailing alone, I can point closer to the wind by shifting some weight toward the bow. I think doing so forces the bow of lee ama a bit deeper into the water and changes the lateral underwater profile. So, I would like to modify my WR so that I can operate it singlehanded from both the rear and the forward cockpit, thus allowing me to shift my weight foreword or aft. Redirecting the mainsheet is straightforward, but channeling the jib sheets seems more difficult- I imagine adding a block in front of the jib cam cleats. Any ideas are of interest. Thanks in advance.

quickwater, I like your idea of installing blocks to redirect the jib sheets to it's cam cleats. (to facilitate jib operation from the forward cockpit). I suggest mounting the blocks about 3" outboard of the cam cleats, on the akas. This will direct the sheets into the cam cleats in a direction that will swing the cam cleats toward the forward cockpit. The block can be mounted on, an added, flange bolted under the cam cleat mount or clamped to the stationary part of the aka. richard.

Thanks for the suggestion, Richard. I will take a look at this. Of course, want to keep the direction of pull of the jibsheet, and the overall geometry, unchanged. Quickwater
