Ours is Deer Island across from Biloxi Mississippi. Free boat ramp at Biloxi Small Craft Harbor 679 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39530. Lots of places to camp for free on the island.
The place I've liked sailing best is on SE Georgian Bay in Ontario near Giant's Tomb Island; of course that is not possible for this resident of the USA these days.
The most convenient places stretch from Onekama to the Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan. There are some nice inland lakes, the semi-sheltered bay, and a few places where one can launch in protected waters, then sail a channel to Lake Michigan that doesn't have a low bridge intervening.
I enjoy Buzzards Bay with the Elizabethan Chain of Islands. Lots of places to gunk hole. Cape Cod bay is awesome with all the seals and whales. Point Judith, RI is phenomenal as well as Newport, Narragansett Bay and Mount Hope Bay. New England has some of the best sailing in the Country for sure!
